"I Do Solemnly Swear..."

"...to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and of the State of California..."

On Monday, January 23, 2012, DJ Bigelow was sworn in as a sergeant with the Pacific Grove Police Department.  It was very exciting and ceremonial, and I feel so welcomed by the PGPD!  Well, not that I am the one becoming their employee; but on DJ's behalf, I feel so welcomed by the Pacific Grove Police Department!  :-)

The chief spoke about the significance of law enforcement, of pledging one self to protect people and property without discrimination or prejudice.

DJ signed official paperwork.

The family gathered: the maternal grandmother, the parents, the wife, the three children.

And Lt. Murphy of the Paso Robles Police Department graced us with his presence.  It was a lovely time!

Momentousness

Last evening I possessed a significant sense of momentousness, in that Officer Bigelow worked his last shift as an employee of the Paso Robles Police Department.  DJ began his career as a law enforcement officer here in our lovely town of Paso Robles 5 years, 7 months, and 3 weeks ago; and now he will move on to other places.  This photo was taken May 22, 2006 on the occassion of DJ's swearing in here in Paso Robles.  I am excited for our new adventure when DJ swears in as a sergeant with Pacific Grove Police Department on January 23, and I will miss our Emergency Services family here.  I love them!  And I love a new adventure.  The end.
